âGood morning!â I announced as I breezed out onto the back deck. âOh, good. Iâm starving.â I took in the beautiful spread on the table in front of me. Fresh fruit, eggs, pancakes, mimosas, and more. The wind was blowing lightly and the sun glittered on the waves. This was heaven.
I grabbed three mini quiches and several pieces of honeydew before taking my seat.
I was on my second plate when I heard Maceoâs voice. He was talking to Artis, and even though I couldnât make out the words, my heart fluttered at the sound of him.
My heart fluttered .
What was this man doing to me?
âGood morning,â was his greeting, and my cheeks heated as he passed me.
âMorning,â I said quietly. My mother smiled at him. Dell just drank his coffee.
I was hoping Maceo would sit far away from me but no such luck. He took the seat right next to me just like the first day we met. Which was probably smarter, because heâd done it before. Sitting at the other end of the table would have been a flashing neon sign that he was trying to avoid me.
Yeah, this was better.
All we had to do was act normal.
âDo you guys have plans today?â I asked my mother. âLet me guessâ¦Dell has a surprise.â I smiled to take the bite out of that because, well, it would have had some bite two days ago. But not anymore.
âNo surprises today,â he said. âJust a fun day at the beach.â
âYou guys are welcome to tag along,â my mother said, and I panicked instantly.
âIâm, um, Iââ
âI got work to do and plus Iââ
âOrders to go out soââ
âMaybe later on.â
âNot right now.â
My mother watched us like she was watching a tennis match. Dell just stared, looking progressively more irritated as time went on. Heâd been perfectly nice until now so I chalked it up to his argument with Maceo.
Serendipitously, I glanced over at him just as he glanced at me and our eyes locked. I had to bring my glass of orange juice to my mouth to hide my smile, internally thankful that nobody could see what was happening down below.
Dell cleared his throat just then but he said nothing.
Suddenly, there was a large hand on my knee. I gasped softly and the hand squeezed me before inching upwards. Thankfully, it stopped at my thigh, and really, that was enough. His light touch caused a flood in my panties.
I moved my leg.
His low chuckle made my clit thump, and I fixed that problem by stuffing more food into my mouth. Anything to get my mind off of him. And last night. And him.
Dell and my mother took their leave shortly after.
And then there were two.
âSo whatâs up?â Maceo said, his eyes raking over me.
âWith what?â
âYou coming to the beach with me?â
âI donât knowâ¦we both have all that work to do.â
He looked around before leaning in close. I thought he was moving in for a kiss but instead, he said, âThinking about your pussy got my mouth watering right now.
